Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Lynx record first SAA tie Friday against Berry

Rome, Ga. - Rhodes College women's soccer tied Berry 1-1 after 110 minutes of play Friday evening. Rhodes, who is now 6-4-2 on the season, recorded their first conference tie and are still in third place in the Southern Athletic Association standings with a 3-1-1 conference record.

After 33 minutes of play, Berry scored first after a corner kick opportunity. The Lynx answered in the second half after senior Brenna Katz worked the ball around her defender and slipped it up the field. Fellow senior Aly Hoyt chased down the ball and one-touched it near the top right of the box, reaching the ball before a sliding Berry goalkeeper. The senior tallied her fourth goal of the year as the ball curved into the back left corner to help Rhodes evade a shutout.

The Lynx tallied six shots compared to Berry's five with Viking goalkeeper Alyssa Stevens picking up nine saves. Rhodes also recorded a 9-2 corner kick advantage.

The Lynx will look ahead to playing at Oglethorpe on Sunday at 12 p.m. ET.
