Memphis - Rhodes women's basketball struggled from long range against Oglethorpe, ultimately falling 77-66. The loss snaps a four game win streak for the Lynx and is the first conference one of the season.
The Lynx recorded just four long balls in the game, their third lowest of the season. The home squad went 0-11 before
Allie Young netted the first one for Rhodes midway through the third quarter. It was the first career three-pointer for the junior.
Alyssa Owens would go on to tally the final three treys in the fourth quarter.Â
Rhodes was down 33-29 at halftime and tried to dig themselves out of a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter. Owens led the Lynx with 24 points while Young recorded her second double-double of the weekend. She finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Maya Longacre was pivotal in the game with senior
Jessie Ustick's absence. The freshman tallied 10 points and eight rebounds in her first career start. Both Longacre and Young recorded two blocks each.
Rhodes is on the road at Millsaps on Friday, Jan. 12th for a 6 p.m. game before they head to Birmingham Southern Sunday for a 1 p.m. Eastern matchup.
