Memphis - Rhodes held off Berry College Friday night for a 114-102 victory after the Vikings tried to make a comeback in the second half. The Lynx are now 7-6 overall and 1-1 in conference.
After leading 75-68 in the second half, the Lynx scored 11 points in a row. With Rhodes then leading 93-75, Berry returned the favor with a 13-point run in two and a half minutes to cut that lead to five points with 5:41 to play. The Lynx held off the Vikings with a 55-48 second-half advantage.
Bryce Berry scored 26 points for the second time in as many games for the Lynx. The sophomore netted 15 of those points in the second half and went 8-of-12 overall, 7-of-7 from the line and 3-of-5 from the arc.
Vaughn Samson netted 14 points while
Daniel Darst's 12 points came in just 11 minutes after the junior got into foul trouble and sat out for a while.
D.J. Swift also recorded double digits, securing 10 points while
Kendrick Ashby led the Lynx with four steals.
Rhodes will host Oglethorpe on Sunday, January 7th at 3 p.m.
