Birmingham, Ala. – Rhodes College men's basketball trailed by as many as 12 points but came back to tie the game 89-89.
Preston Giroux was fouled and after the referee called it intentional, the Lynx maintained possession with a one-point lead which
D.J. Swift extended on a three-pointer from the key. The four-point lead was it for the Lynx as BSC went on a 16-5 run to lead 105-98. Forced to foul, Rhodes tried to close the gap in the last minute. Trailing by three, Rhodes made a last-second three-point attempt in the thriller which was blocked by BSC.
BSC won 109-106, putting Rhodes at 8-8 overall and 2-3 in conference.
Anesu Nyawata led the Lynx with 23 points, going 9-of-12 on the afternoon.
The Lynx are at home this weekend, hosting Sewanee at 8 p.m. on Friday, January 19
th and will look to re-match the Panthers on Sunday at 3 p.m.
