Memphis - After a slow start, Rhodes College volleyball rallied together for a five-set victory over Millsaps College Saturday afternoon. The Lynx improve to a 4-2 conference record as they turn around to host Birmingham-Southern on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Southern Athletic Association's Game of the Week.

Millsaps started the game off hot and took the first two sets before Rhodes clawed their way back to victory. In the third quarter, Rhodes found their rhythm. With the game tied 6-6, the Lynx scored seven straight points to take the lead for good in the set. Millsaps tried to make a comeback when they scored five straight points to cut Rhodes' lead to 22-21. The Lynx avoided the sweep by scoring three of the final four points in the set. 

In the fourth set, Rhodes once again trailed Millsaps, this time 7-3 before scoring 10 of the next 13 points to lead 13-10. The rest of the game was one of streaks. Millsaps went on a six-point run when Rhodes turned around and scored seven consecutive points to lead 20-16. Rhodes would close out the set on a 5-2 run to force the fifth set. 

In the final frame, with the set itied 3-3, Rhodes went on a 9-2 run to lead 12-5. Each team would score three more points as the Lynx made the comeback for the five-set victory. 

Middle hitter Lulu Schulz hit .350 with 10 kills for Rhodes while outside hitter Elasha Williams recorded the game-high 14 kills. Schulz was part of 7 blocks as the team recorded 10 on the afternoon. In the back row, freshman Mary Frances Daniel's 28 digs was barely a team-high for Rhodes as Williams tallied 27 as well. Lynx freshman Kelsey Glasper led the game with four aces.
