Atlanta, Ga. - Rhodes College volleyball took down Oglethorpe University Saturday 25-17, 25-17, 25-21. The Lynx have won three conference games in a row and are now 8-4 on the year and 3-1 in conference. Oglethorpe falls to 2-6 and are winless in SAA play with an 0-4 mark.
Rhodes dominated Oglethorpe in blocking, compiling an 8-1 advantage over the three sets. Leading the charge for the Lynx was senior
Gabby Gafford out of the middle and
Heather Antrim on the right side. Gafford totaled seven block assists on the day and Antrim six block assists.
The Lynx hit a set-high .238 in the first set.
August Bishop recorded a team-high six kills on 11 attempts, all in one set.
Morgan Hill played just one set, but was accurate at the net, recording a .571 hitting percentage over seven attempts (four kills).
Tierin Burrow guided the back row with eight digs over two sets.
Rhodes will conclude play this weekend at Berry College on Sunday at 2 p.m. EST. It's a battle of win streaks as Berry has won four games in a row. They are 9-3 overall and 4-0 in SAA play.
