Memphis - It was a hot and sunny day today as Rhodes College Men's Soccer debuted their new scoreboard and put up a win to open Southern Athletic Association play. The Lynx defeated Millsaps 2-0 as they improve to 4-1-2 on the year and are 1-0 against conference opponents.
Rhodes finally connected for the first goal of the game in the 41st minute when senior
Mark Robinson came in off the bench for his fourth goal of the year with an assist from
Matt McKeand.
Junior
George Winfrey sealed the final goal of the game from Robinson in the 64th minute, scoring his first goal of the season.Â
The two teams were relatively even statistically, with Rhodes edging the shots (15-11). In goal for the Lynx,
Patrick Wilkerson netted the win with three saves. Alfie Miller had five saves for Millsaps.
Rhodes' next game will be at Birmingham-Southern on Sept. 30th. The two teams will take to the pitch for a 4:30 p.m. start.Â
