Baltimore, Md. - Rhodes field hockey fell to No. 18-ranked Christopher Newport Sunday morning on the campus of Johns Hopkins University. Christopher Newport shut out the Lynx 4-0 as they improve to 6-1 on the season. Rhodes falls to 2-3 on the year. They open conference play this weekend.
Lynx goalies got quite the workout Sunday, totaling 17 saves plus two team saves. Senior
Laura Eckelkamp's first half performance saw 16 shots as she allowed two goals and tallied eight saves. During the second half,
Nina Migneco made nine saves in her first outing of the year as CNU rattled off 20 shots.Â
On the year, CNU has scored 26 goals in seven games and only allowed their opponents to score three times.
Rhodes is at home for Parents and Family Weekend, Sept. 23-24, hosting Belmont Abbey at 11 a.m on Saturday and Concordia Wis. at noon on Sunday.Â
