The Rhodes Lynx headed north to St. Louis Friday night to face the Webster University Gorloks. The weather was clear with a slight wind which called for a great opportunity on both sides to have a great game.    

With the game coming to a slow start, a build-up in the Lynx midfield just before 30 minutes of play led to a beautiful cross down field to the head of William Mitchell. Mitchell found the ball right before it crossed the goal line extended and headed it straight down to senior Matt McKeand who slotted the ball into the back of net at the end of the 28th minute. Webster's offense found a through ball in the Lynx back four, finding the opportunity to loft the ball into the net tying the game 1-1.    

Ending 90 minutes of play tied 1-1, the Lynx headed to a 10 minute overtime. Shots were made on both sides but Lynx goalkeeper, Patrick Wilkerson stood strong in the back, sending the Lynx into double overtime. Gameplay became scrappy as two fouls were called on Webster against the Lynx. Both teams shot multiple times but to no avail. 

With this recent tie, the Lynx go into Sunday's match against Illinois College 2-1-2. The game, in Jacksonville, Ill. Is at 1 p.m. against the 3-2 Blueboys.
