Memphis - Rhodes College women's soccer suffered a 2-1 loss as Christian Brothers University scored the game-winning goal in the 107th minute of Wednesday night's contest. The Lynx fall to 1-3-1 on the year. The game is the second in the last three that the Lynx have gone into double overtime.
Rhodes struck first when freshman
Liz Vega netted her first collegiate goal just before halftime. The Lynx took the 1-0 lead in the 43rd minute and held onto it until CBU tied the game in the 73rd minute.
Junior goalkeeper
Anna Maldonado made six saves in regulation and one in each overtime before CBU found the back of the net in the 107th minute.
Overall, CBU tallied 24 shots to Rhodes' seven. The host team also held an 11-1 corner kick advantage.
Rhodes is on the road this weekend, travelling to St. Louis to take on Fontbonne University and a neutral-site contest against DePauw University.
