RHODES FOOTBALL ANNOUNCES CLASS OF 2021

Jim Ryan today announced the addition of 40 incoming players who will attend school and play football at Rhodes College. While the class comprises athletes from 10 states, the Lynx did a tremendous job landing recruits from their own back yard with 6 recruits from within an hour's drive of Memphis, and 3 from Memphis city schools. "I'm very pleased that we were able to expand our reach here in Memphis," Ryan said, "Memphis high school football is as competitive as anywhere in the nation, and we want to do everything we can to keep great players here."
Not to be outdone, the Nashville area added eight more to the list of 15 in-state recruits, including two freshmen and a transfer from perennial power Ensworth High School. "One of our goals in recruiting was to take ownership of the western half of the state in recruiting", said Ryan.
Beyond the state of Tennessee, the Lynx had a banner year in the sunshine state of Florida with seven new freshmen. Georgia and Texas both contributed 5 members each to the new class, while the New Orleans area contributed 2 freshmen as well.
The Lynx also expanded their reach outside of the southeast: Missouri, New York, New Jersey, Nevada, and California are also represented in this year's class.
Ryan continued, "This class provides us a great deal of needed depth at every position. Our staff did a wonderful job this year, their hard work made the difference in landing some key players. We have been able to make up lost ground from some of the past years of recruiting." The Lynx had the smallest roster in the Southern Athletic Association last season (84), but still managed to finish 4
th overall with a 6-4 record, the best first-season record for a new staff in school history. Ryan and his staff will welcome 96 players in August, and open on the road September 2
nd in Salem Oregon vs. Willamette University.
