MEMPHIS - The Rhodes College men's tennis team remained in the hunt for the SAA Regular Season Title, moving to 4-1 in conference play with a 7-2 win over Berry in their home finale at Dunavant Tennis Courts.
Rhodes dropped the first match at No. 1 doubles, but responded nicely as freshmen
P.J. Shaw and
Ritwik Chatterjee were victorious at No. 3 doubles, 8-6, while sophomore
Sean Hogan and freshman
Andrew Morton clinched the doubles point with an 9-8 (6) win at No. 2 doubles.
The Lynx carried that momentum into singles as seniors
Daniel Olivier and
Albert Vacheron made it a 4-1 match with wins at No. 5 singles (6-1, 6-2) and No. 1 singles (6-3, 6-3).
Chatterjee clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles while Shaw was victorious at No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-4, and Hogan topped the match off with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles.
Rhodes moves to 15-4 overall and 4-1 in the SAA. They hit the road for their final two matches beginning on Friday with a 4 PM matchup with Centre College in Danville, Ky.
