ATLANTA, Ga. - The Rhodes College men's tennis team did battle with top-ranked Emory on Saturday afternoon, dropping a tough 8-1 match to the Eagles on the road in Atlanta.
Rhodes began the day by dropping the doubles point, 3-0, despite great efforts by sophomore
Sean Hogan and freshman
Andrew Morton at court 2 and freshmen
Phil Lauture and
Ritwik Chatterjee at court 3 with both teams falling 8-4.
Emory continued to play well at singles competition, clinching the match. Chatterjee salvaged a point for the Lynx at No. 3 singles as he picked up a huge 6-4, 6-4 win to improve to 14-1 in singles action.
The Lynx fall to 12-3 overall and will turn their attention to conference play as they prepare to welcome in Millsaps next Saturday at 10 AM.
