MEMPHIS - The Rhodes College men's tennis team remained undefeated in 2017 while picking up their first Southern Athletic Association win of the season, sweeping past the Hendrix Warriors, 9-0, at Dunavant Tennis Courts on Sunday afternoon.
The Lynx wasted little time with the Warriors, sweeping through doubles competition behind three 8-2 wins by No. 1
Andrew Morton and
Sean Hogan, No. 2
P.J. Shaw and
Phil Lauture, and No. 3
Albert Vacheron and
Ritwik Chatterjee.
In singles competition, all six courts won in two sets at Chatterjee at No. 3 singles, and Lauture at No. 4 singles, each picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win, while Morton at No. 2 singles, and Shaw at No. 5 singles, each picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win.
Junior
Wesley Tolsdorf picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles while Vacheron wrapped things up at No. 1 singles with a 6-4, 6-3 win for the sweep.
Rhodes falls to 7-0 overall and 1-0 in the SAA. They return to action on Saturday morning as they welcome in Tennessee State at 9 AM and Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 2:30 PM in a doubleheader.
