MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Rhodes College men's lacrosse team built a lead as high as six and held off a furious rally from the Huntingdon Hawks to come away with a 9-7 win on Saturday afternoon at Samford Stadium.
Rhodes dominated the match despite the score, out shooting the Hawks, 43-19, and turning the Hawks over 19 times. The Lynx came away with 27 ground balls and were 12 of 12 in clear attempts.
Rhodes raced out to a 5-1 lead midway through the second and held a 5-3 lead at halftime. In the third quarter, junior
Ryan Fennelly took over, scoring the first two goals on the second half and assisting on another as Rhodes pulled away for a 9-3 lead.
Huntingdon made a furious rally at the Lynx late in the third and throughout the fourth, but the Lynx closed the door shut and escaped Montgomery with a 9-7 win to remain unbeaten.

Cameron Link earned the win in goal, finishing with four saves in the contest.
Rhodes moves to 4-0 overall and will look to carry that momentum in next Sunday evening as they welcome in the Bridgewater Eagles for a 6 PM contest at Crain Field.
