MEMPHIS - The Rhodes College men's tennis team moved to 4-0 on the season as they defeated the Belhaven Blazers on Friday afternoon at the Dunavant Tennis Courts by the score of 7-2.
Rhodes started off by taking a 2-1 lead in doubles as the team of sophomore
Sean Hogan and freshman
Andrew Morton rolled at No. 2 doubles to an 8-0 win while the team of freshmen
P.J. Shaw and
Phil Lauture was victorious at No. 3 doubles, 8-5, for a 2-1 lead going into singles competition.
In singles, freshman
Ritwik Chatterjee continues to play outstanding tennis in his rookie season, winning at No. 3 singles by the score of 6-0, 6-0 to go to 4-0 on the year in singles action. Olivier was victorious at No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-0, while Lauture won at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
At No. 2 singles, Morton picked up a 6-4, 6-0 win while Hogan won at No. 4 singles by the score of 6-3, 6-4 to wrap up the match for the Lynx at 7-2.
The Lynx will look to keep rolling on Saturday afternoon as they welcome in the Huntingdon Hawks for a 1 PM matchup.
