BETHEL RESULTS | SPRING HILL RESULTS
MEMPHIS - The Rhodes College men's tennis teams got a pair of wins on Saturday afternoon as they defeated Bethel 7-2 in the morning followed by an 8-1 victory over Spring Hill later in the afternoon.
Rhodes led off the morning with a pair of wins in doubles competition as senior
Albert Vacheron and freshman
Ritwik Chatterjee picked up an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles while junior
Wesley Tolsdorf and freshman
William Von Hassell picked up an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles to take a 2-1 lead moving into singles.
Freshman
Andrew Morton was victorious at No. 2 singles over Otto Abad 6-0, 6-1 while sophomore
Sean Hogan picked up a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles over Barrett Phelps. Chatterjee clinched the match at No. 3 singles with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Byron Melbourne.
Rhodes got two more wins at singles for the 7-2 team victory as Vacheron was victorious at No. 1 singles by the scored of 6-2, 6-2 while Tolsdorf won at No. 5 singles by the score of 6-2, 6-1.
Against Spring Hill, the team started at singles competition where Chatterjee picked up a 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles over Kurt Shiell while Hogan won at No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-3 over Martin Jaramillo. Tolsdorf was victorious at No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-4 while Morton won 6-2, 6-4 en rout to an 8-1 win.
Rhodes moves to 2-0 on the young season and has a pair of matchups scheduled for tomorrow beginning with Ozarks at 9 AM followed by a 1 PM matchup against cross-town rival Christian Brothers.
