Ark. - Rhodes College women's basketball is now 1-1 on the year after a 79-69 loss at Ozarks (Ark.) Saturday afternoon.
Ozarks outscored Rhodes 41-26 in the first half. The Lynx ran out of time trying to make the comeback, scoring 22 points in the third quarter and edging Ozarks 43-38 in second-half.
The loss almost eradicates an absolutely outstanding performance by freshman
Lindsey Whiteside. Whiteside's career-high 24 points was the game-high. She scored 13 of those in the first half and ended the game 7-of-12 overall and 8-of-11 at the charity stripe. Whiteside added four rebounds and three assists to her totals.
Allie Young led the Lynx with eight rebounds and two blocks as she added 16 points for the Lynx.
Alyssa Owens was the other Lynx in double figures, netting 13 second-half points and tallying five assists.
Rhodes will host Belhaven University on Tuesday in their home-opener at 6 p.m. before Thanksgiving Break.
