Danville, Ky. - Rhodes College field hockey bested Centre College on the road Saturday morning in a match the Southern Athletic Association deemed the "Game of the Week" .
After 70 minutes of play, Rhodes earned a penalty stroke where senior
Mackenzie Busby buried the game-winning goal just 50 seconds into overtime.
The win is just the beginning of a long weekend for the Lynx. The game was the first for the Lynx to wear their light blue ribbons in KJ Johnson's memory and her former teammates delivered.Â
The battle was quite even as both teams earned 10 corners and 13 shots during regulation. Senior
Laura Eckelkamp made six critical saves in net while
Victoria Palazzetti also ensured the shutout with her defensive save in the 57th minute.Â
