Memphis - After a scoreless 68 minutes, Rhodes and Berry each netted a goal within a minute to tie the game 1-1 in the 70th minute. Berry came away with the 2-1 victory, ultimately snapping Rhodes' four-game win streak as head coach Richard Vardy tallied his 200th career win.
Berry's first goal was scored by Steven Williamson on a cross from Jake Williamson. Less than a minute later, Berry was called for a foul inside the box where
William Mitchell's penalty kick tied the game. The two teams would remain scoreless until Berry's Alec Jones sent a long ball near the left corner of the goal from around midfield. Williamson connected with a low shot for the game winning goal.
On the afternoon, Rhodes edged Berry in shots (17-13), corner kicks (6-5) and saves (5-3).
Patrick Wilkerson recorded three saves in goal for the home team while Joel Sabia and
George Winfrey added defensive saves.
The Lynx will have a day off before hosting Oglethorpe on Sunday at 2 p.m. Oglethorpe is set to play at Hendrix later Friday night.
