Sewanee, Tenn. - Rhodes College field hockey has clinched the No. 1-seed of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament with Sunday's 2-0 victory over Sewanee. The Lynx won the battle of the final two teams with undefeated conference records. The victory entitles the Lynx to at least a share of the regular season title.

Laura Eckelkamp made two saves, ensuring a scoreless first half before
Lizzie Wood scored the game winner just over five minutes into the second half.
Hailey Mules then added an insurance goal from a
Lauren Travis assist in the 55th minute.Â
Eckelkamp saved all three Sewanee shots on goal, earning the shutout.Â
Despite the low score, Rhodes dominated Sewanee in shots (27-8) and penalty corners (15-3).
Rhodes improves to 10-4 on the year with a 5-0 conference record. The Lynx, who have just one game left in the regular season, will host Hendrix in a battle on Senior Day. The event will take place on Saturday, October, 28th at 1 p.m. for sole ownership of the SAA regular season title.
