Walnut Ridge, Ark. - It was a first half scoring frenzy as each team netted two goals before Rhodes senior
William Mitchell netted the game winner in the second half to give the Lynx a 3-2 victory over Williams Baptist. The win is the fourth in a row for Rhodes as they climb to 6-1-2 on the season.
Getting time in goal tonight was
Boe Santos who saved five shots for his first win of the season.
Rhodes took a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute when Mitchell scored his first goal of the year on a
George Winfrey assist. The Lynx then scored three minutes later when
Davis Neitzschman netted his second goal of the season on an
Austin Ly assist.
Williams Baptist retaliated by scoring two goals in a row to tie the game before halftime.
Mark Robinson recorded his second game-winning assist in a row when Mitchell scored in the 77th minute.
During the game, Rhodes and Williams Baptist were relatively even in shots with the hosts edging the Lynx 17-15. Rhodes added two team saves for seven saves in the win while Williams Baptist added six saves.
Rhodes is at home this weekend for two SAA games when they host Berry College on Friday at 3 p.m. followed by Oglethorpe on Sunday at 2 p.m.
