MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The combination of shooting 27% for the game along with a 41 point second half from Berry doomed the Rhodes College women's basketball team as they fell on the road to the Vikings by the score of 64-45.
Rhodes was abysmal from the field all afternoon, finishing 16 of 59 and only going 2 of 19 from behind the arch. The Lynx did get to the free throw line 16 times, shooting 69% from the game.
Meanwhile, Berry was especially good from the field, shooting 43% including 45% from 3-point range. Rhodes was able to force 20 turnovers, but were manhandled in the rebounding department, losing the battle 51-28.

Sara Giesen closed the gap to three at 16-13, which was the score at the end of one.
Both teams cooled down in the second period as Berry out scored Rhodes 7-6 in the quarter. Rhodes pushed it to as close as one point, but the Vikings took a 23-19 lead at the break.
After opening the half with four straight points to tie it at 23, Berry went on a 25-6 run throughout the third quarter and moving into the fourth quarter to open up a commanding 19 point lead as Berry pulled away for the 64-45 win.
Smith led the way with 10 points while sophomore
Jessie Ustick had 10 points. Giesen added eight points while sophomore
Allie Young had six points to go with seven rebounds, three steals, and three blocks.Â
For Berry, they were led by Kristin Rampersad with 17 points while Alex Weems added 15 points and 10 rebounds and Casey Brooks had 10 points.Â
Rhodes falls to 1-17 overall and 0-7 in conference play. They wrap up their four game road trip and prepare to return to Mallory Gymnasium this weekend as they take on Oglethorpe on Friday night at 6 PM.
