CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - The Rhodes College men's soccer team could not overcome a 2-0 deficit as they dropped their first match of the season to the University of the Ozarks, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon at Hurie Soccer Field.
The Eagles had a slight edge over the Lynx in shots at 8-7 including a 5-3 advantage in shots on goal. The Lynx earned nine corner kicks to the Ozarks three, but could not take advantage of it.
The Ozarks scored first in the 14th minute for the early lead and they added to it three minutes into the second half for a 2-0 lead. Rhodes had six shots in the first half, but could only muster one in the second half despite earning seven of their corners in that half.
In the 85th minutes, Rhodes would go down to 10 men after a red card was given. However, with under a minute remaining, Rhodes got on the board on a goal by junior
Mark Robinson. However, the Lynx could not find another opportunity as they fell by one goal.

Nick Isolani each added a shot in the game. Sophomore
Patrick Wilkerson got the start in goal, finishing with three saves on the afternoon.
Rhodes moves to 0-1-0 on the season while the Eagles are now 2-0-0. Rhodes will look to rebound and try to earn their first win of the season as they take on the University of Dallas tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m.
