MEMPHIS - Senior
Mackenzie Busby scored the game winning goal six minutes into overtime as the Rhodes College Lynx defeated the DePauw Tigers on Sunday afternoon at Mason Field in a rematch of the first round of the 2015 NCAA Championship.
Rhodes moves to 2-0 on the season while DePauw sits at 1-1. The Lynx out shot the Tigers 17-14 including a 13-8 advantage in shots on goal. Rhodes also had a 12-8 advantage in penalty corners.
DePauw got on the board first as Reilly Bruce scored at the 20 minute mark in the first half. Just two minutes later, senior
Christina DiFelice evened the score up with her first goal of the 2016 season.
Both teams came out firing in the second half as they were dead even in shots at six a piece. The Lynx broke through 10 minutes into the second half as freshman
Cami Sullivan scored her first career goal on an assist by senior
Erin Best.
However, DePauw answered right back with the equalizer just four minutes later as Kate Milner found a gap in the Lynx defense to breakaway towards goal and finish, tying the game at two a piece.
Rhodes had some chances with late penalty corners towards the end of the half, but the DePauw defense held to force overtime.

Freshman Haley Mules had an excellent game, leading the offense with four shots, while Busby, DiFelice, junior
Lauren Travis, and senior Meghan Fogarty each had two shots a piece. The Lynx got another great game defensively from junior
Morgan Woodrow, senior
Kennedy Brislin, sophomore
Abby Rockefeller, and freshman
Lydia Slyter. Junior
Laura Eckelkamp finished with six saves in goal.
Rhodes will travel to the east coast next weekend, beginning on Saturday as they will be in Westminster, Md. for a 12 PM ET matchup against McDaniel.
