CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Rhodes College volleyball team split on the final day of the Pacific Coach Classic Tournament hosted by Pomona-Pitzer, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, and La Verne. After falling to Stevens, Rhodes picked up their first win of the year over Northland.
Against a strong Stevens team, Rhodes could not manage to get much of anything going as they were swept.
However, the Lynx put together some great numbers against the Lumberjills, hitting .320 as a team with 35 kills and only 11 errors. The Lynx hit a blistering .476 in the first set for a 25-15 win, earning 13 kills and only three errors.
In the second set, the Lynx continued to hit well, hitting .375 in the second set with 12 kills and three errors in a tightly contested 25-21 game. In a 20-20 game, Rhodes outscored the Lumberjills, 5-1, to earn the win and take a commanding 2-0 lead.
The Lynx closed it out thanks in part to a five point rally en rout to a 25-20 win and their first victory of the season.

Camila Zimmerman led the Lynx with eight kills while sophomores
August Bishop and
Lulu Schulz each had six kills. Schulz had a huge game in blocks with seven on the day while freshman
Heather Antrim added six blocks.
Sophomore
Hannah McCarty had 16 assists while freshman
Lindsey Blasius added 10. Senior
Catherine Grimes picked up a game-high 13 digs.
The Lynx will return for their home opener on Friday and Saturday as they will host the Blues City Invite in Memphis. The Lynx will take on LeTourneau University on Friday at 6 p.m. Check rhodeslynx.com later in the week for full details regarding all the matches this weekend.
