Lynx Struggle in Road Matchup with Birmingham-Southern

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Rhodes College volleyball team could not muster anything on Sunday afternoon as they fell in three sets to the Birmingham-Southern Panthers in a Southern Athletic Association contest. Rhodes falls to 6-6 overall and 2-3 in the SAA.

It was a tough day all around for Rhodes as they struggled in their attack, finishing with only 17 kills to 24 errors for a season low -.079 hitting percentage. Meanwhile, the Panthers were red-hot as they finished with 39 kills to seven errors for a hitting percentage of .386. They would fall 25-12, 25-13, 25-7 in the three set loss.

Sophomores Katherine Bolyard and August Bishop along with freshman Heather Antrim finished with three kills a piece while sophomore Arati Joshi had six assists on the day.

Defensively, sophomore Lulu Schulz had two blocks on the afternoon while senior Catherine Grimes led the Lynx in digs with seven.

Rhodes will look to rebound this upcoming weekend on the road as they prepare to go to Sewanee, Tenn. for a 10:30 a.m. matchup on Saturday with their rivals, the Sewanee Tigers.
