MEMPHIS - The Rhodes College men's soccer team traveled one mile down East Parkway to take on Division II foe Christian Brothers on Wednesday evening at Signaigo Field, falling to the Bucs, 2-0.
Rhodes goes to 2-4-1 on the season as they prepare for the conference play this weekend.
The Lynx were out shot 18-7 including an 11-1 advantage for CBU in shots on target. Christian Brothers also held a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks on the evening.
The Bucs wasted no time getting on the board as Xavi Lao scored in the sixth minute for the 1-0 lead. Rhodes could not get much of anything going offensively, but held firm defensively to keep the game as a one goal deficit.
However, Christian Brothers found their second goal in the second half as Brendan Bennett scored in the 51st minute, six minutes into the second half, to put the Bucs in control comfortably.
Rhodes held strong against the strong Division II opponent, limiting the Bucs the rest of the night as they were only out shot 8-5 in the second half. The Lynx would eventually fall despite a strong effort.
