ATLANTA, Ga. - The Rhodes College men's tennis team hit the road on Saturday afternoon as they took on the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels in Southern Athletic Association play.
The men dropped all three doubles matches despite a terrific effort at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. The No. 2 team of junior
Albert Vacheron and freshman
Sean Hogan dropped an 8-6 decision while the No. 3 team of freshmen
Sairam Gudiseva and
Henry Barrett also dropped an 8-6 decision.
In singles action, the Stormy Petrels took control and would clinch the match with a pair of singles wins. The Lynx lone win came at No. 3 singles as Barrett rebounded from the tough loss at doubles for a 7-6 (3), 7-5 decision. Gudiseva played well at No. 6 singles, but suffered a tough 5-7, 6-4, 10-8 loss.
Rhodes drops to 7-8 overall and 2-2 in SAA play. They will return to action tomorrow afternoon as they head to Mount Berry, Ga. for a 9 AM ET matchup against Berry College.
