Lindsay Gess and sophomore
Kendall Cunningham each finished with hat tricks while the Rhodes College women's lacrosse team racked up 13 first half goals en rout to a 17-3 win over the Beloit Buccaneers on Monday afternoon.
The Lynx outshot the Bucs, 31-10, and had 28 shots on target in the contest. Rhodes forced 17 turnovers and held Beloit to 11-for-19 in clear attempts. Rhodes also held a 26-10 advantage in groundballs and was 19-for-22 in draw controls.
Rhodes went up 2-0 in the first 10 minutes behind goals from Cunningham and senior
Morgan Fuller. The Lynx then proceeded to score an unprecedented four goals in one minutes.
Sophomore
Olivia Holmes got the scoring started on a beautiful assist from sophomore
Ashley Doyle at the 18:59 mark followed by a goal from Cunningham at the 18:34 mark. Doyle followed that up with a goal at the 18:21 mark on an assist from Cunningham while Gess made it 6-0 with a goal at the 18:04 mark.
Gess, Cunningham, and Fuller all scored in the next eight minutes to push the lead to 9-0.
After Beloit scored at the 9:04 mark, Rhodes closed the half with four straight goals from freshman

Maggie Rippeto, Doyle, and Gess to take the 13-1 advantage at the break.
In the second half, the Lynx began to empty their bench and got goals from freshman
Annika Hedlund, Ansel, Rippeto, and freshman
Elizabeth Gaudio as Rhodes closed out the game with the 17-3 win.
Doyle, Rippeto, Fuller, and Ansel all finished with two goals on the day while Cunningham had a pair of assists to go with her three goal game. Doyle, Rippeto, and Hedlund added an assist each. Doyle pulled in five draw controls while Fuller and freshman
Kaylin Ryan had three a piece.
Defensively, junior
Emily Teague and sophomore
Elizabeth Lewis each had two caused turnovers while Teague had five groundballs. Ansel added four groundballs, Fuller three, and Gaudio and freshman
Daly Colarossi had two. Sophomore
Katherine Tooley had the start in goal and had one save in the win. Doyle moved to goal in the second half and picked up five saves.
Rhodes is now 5-1 overall and will head out west to Texas for matchup under the lights against Southwestern University. The two teams will square off on Friday at 5 PM.
