GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Rhodes College women's lacrosse team scored 10 consecutive goals from midway through the first half into early in the second half to open up a huge lead while holding off a late rally from Southwestern University for a 14-10 road win on Friday evening.
The Lynx outshot the Pirates 34-14 in shots and was 19-for-26 in draw controls on the evening. The Lynx forced 19 turnovers on the day while only turning it over 14 times.
Sophomore
Ashley Dill gave Rhodes an early lead, but Southwestern responded with three straight goals to take a 3-1 lead as the game saw a delay due to lightning in the area.
Rhodes responded by scoring 10 consecutive goals including eight to close the half. Sophomore

Morgan Fuller scored the next four goals to regain the Lynx lead while Dill, sophomore
Ashley Doyle, sophomore
Maggie Rippeto, and freshman
Elizabeth Gaudio each scored to close the half and give Rhodes a 9-3 lead.
Rippeto and Gaudio scored to start the second half and push the lead to 11-3. Southwestern would move within six, but goals from freshman

Lindsay Gess continued to give Rhodes a comfortable lead. The Pirates rallied late to move within four, but it was not enough as the Lynx left Georgetown with a win.
Five Lynx all had two goals in Cunningham, Rippeto, Fuller, Gaudio, and Dill. Rippeto, Fuller, and Doyle all added an assist while Rippeto finished with a team-high four groundballs. Doyle and Dill also added three groundballs on the night while Doyle won four draw controls.
Defensively, Fuller and freshman
Dylan Craddock each had two caused turnovers while sophomore
Katherine Tooley earned her sixth win of the season in goal, finishing with three saves on the day.
Rhodes is now 6-1 on the season and will be back in action on Thursday, March 17th as they battle Clarkson at Mason Field.
