GRINNELL, Iowa - Senior sprinter
Jeremy Phillips finished third in the 200m final this afternoon to earn All-American honors as he reprsented the Rhodes College track and field team at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Phillips finished with a time of 21.94 and won the first section of the 200m. However, Parker Witt of Wisconsin-Whitewater won the second section and the National Title with a time of 21.76 while Ernest Winters placed second with a time of 21.90.
Phillips third place finish is the second best finish by any Rhodes Track & Field at the NCAA Championships. He wraps up a stellar career at the NCAA Championships, setting numerous Rhodes records in sprints while going out an All-American.
Sophomore
Renn Eason also competed on Saturday afternoon in the high jump, placing 10th with a jump of 1.99m. Eason wraps up an outstanding indoor season where he set a new school record in the high jump as well as being named USTFCCCA South/Southeast Field Athlete of the Year.
He now preapres for the outdoor season where he already has a jump of 2.10m under his belt.
