BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Rhodes College men's basketball team could not get much going on the road against Southern Athletic Association Regular Season Champion, Birmingham-Southern, falling 81-48 on Friday evening.
The Lynx only shot 17-for-59 (29.3%) from the field and 3-for-18 (16.7%) from downtown. BSC was a blazing 31-for-58 (53.4%) and 11-for-23 (47.8%) from deep. It was a rough start for the Lynx as they fell behind 14-2 early on as the Panthers came out red hot, especially from behind the arch. The Lynx used 3-pointers from sophomore
Price Dalton and freshman
Will McIntyre to spark an 8-0 run and move within four. BSC answered with a 16-0 run to move ahead 30-10.
The duo of junior
Tyler Gee and sophomore
Ian Harrison got things going in the paint as Rhodes went on a 10-0 run towards the end of the half to cut the deficit to 10 and the Lynx found themselves down 34-23 at the break despite a rough half.
However, the Panthers showed why they are the top team in the conference as they heated up from the field in the second half, moving their lead to 25 by the midway point of the second half. Rhodes had no answer, as they would eventually fall, 81-48.
Gee, Harrison, and junior
Daniel Galvin led Lynx scorers with eight points while Dalton scored seven off the bench. Galvin pulled down six rebounds and added two steals and a block. Harrison added three steals while junior
