MEMPHIS - The Rhodes College women's lacrosse team moved to 2-0 on the season, scoring eight goals in the second half in a blowout victory over Huntingdon College on a frigid Sunday afternoon at Mason Field.
The Lynx outshot the Hawks, 30-13, with 28 shots on target to Huntingdon's nine. Rhodes forced 13 turnovers while only turning it over five times. The Lynx were 15-for-19 in clears while holding Huntingdon to 9-for-20. Rhodes also held a 14-7 advantage in draw controls.
The teams were scoreless throughout the first 15 minutes as the Hawks were able to keep the Lynx offense off the scoreboard. However, after the 15 minutes mark, Rhodes scored six goals in the next 10 minutes.

Ashley Dill got the Lynx on the board followed by goals from sophomore
Kendall Cunningham and sophomore

Ashley Doyle scored to make it 4-0 before freshman
Elizabeth Gaudio scored a pair of goals to make it a 6-0 game.
Huntingdon got on the board late in the half to make it a 6-1 game, but Rhodes closed the half with a goal from sophomore Olivia Holmes to go ahead 7-1 at the break.

Annika Hedlund made it an 8-2 lead before sophomore
Maggie Rippeto went on a tear, scoring the four goals in the half to blow the game wide open. Junior
Lindsay Gess scored a pair of goals in the half while Gleeson added her second goal of the game as Rhodes eventually closed the game out.
Rippeto finished with four goals while Gaudio, Gess, and Gleeson all added two goals on the afternoon. Holmes finished with two assists while Rippeto, Gaudio, and Gess as well as senior
Morgan Fuller and freshman Kaylin Ryan all had an assist. Rippeto, Fuller, and sophomore
Elizabeth Lewis all had three caused turnovers on the day.
Sophomore
Katherine Tooley earned her second win of the season for Rhodes, finishing with five saves.
Rhodes will be off the next two weekend and will return to action on Saturday, February 27th against Birmingham-Southern in their Southern Athletic Association opener.
