MEN'S RESULTS | WOMEN'S RESULTS
GREENCASTLE, Ind. - The Rhodes College track and field competed in their final indoor event of the 2015-16 season as the women won the DePauw Indoor Invitational while the men placed third.
The women scored 122 points, defeating 11 other teams. Anderson placed second with 100 points followed by Franklin with 87 points. Rose-Hulman placed fourth with 83 points while Hanover rounded out the top five with 81 points.
On the field side, the Lynx were especially dominant as senior
Haley Pryor set a new PR in the pole vault at 3.50m. Sophomore
Brianna Hardeman won the long jump wat 5.14m while senior
Alex Boss placed second in the triple jump at 9.92m.
In throws, juniors
Kira Curry and
Riley McCormick placed third and fourth in the shot put at 11.68m and 11.01m. McCormick went on to set a PR in the weight throw, earning a third place finish with a distance of 13.29m.
In sprints, Hardeman and sophomore
Alice Fugate placed third and fourth in the 60m dash with times of 8.15 and 8.22. Fugate would go on to finish third in the 200m dash with a time of 27.78. Freshman
Rosie Lobelson placed second in the 600m with a time of 1:46.27
In distance, the Lynx got an excellent performance in the 3000m as senior
Brittany Alexander, sophomore
Reagan Alley, and sophomore
Ellery Hayden finished second, third, and fourth. Alexander placed with a time of 10:53.72, Alley with a time of 10:57.23, and Hayden with a time of 11:04.64.
The Lynx Distance Medley Team of junior
Kendall Reed, sophomore
Laurel Sharp, Lobelson, and Alexander placed first with a time of 12:59.84.
On the men's side, Rose-Hulman won the even with 150 points followed by Wabash with 130.5. Rhodes had 66 points followed by DePauw with 65 and Anderson with 61 to round out the top five.
Senior
Jeremy Phillips had an excellent day for the Lynx, winning the 60m dash with a time of 6.92 while junior
Sam Allen placed seventh with 7.32. Phillips went on to win the 200m dash with a time of 22.38.
In distance, senior
Matt Dsida finished third in the 800m with a time of 2:00.23 and followed that up by winning the mile with a time of 4:23.42. Freshman
Reece Stevens placed fourth in the 3000m with a time of 9:01.09 while freshman
Adam Hearn finished fifth with a time of 9:05.46.
In field, sophomore
Renn Eason won the high jump for the third time this season, finish with a jump of 2.10m.
Rhodes will wait and see if any athletes are called to the NCAA Championships on March 11th and 12th. Before then, the Lynx will open up their outdoor season on March 5th at the Mississippi College Opener in Clinton, Miss.
