MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Behind a terrific effort from junior
Anna Maldonado and the Rhodes College defense, the Lynx forced a scoreless draw with the Berry College Vikings in a conference road contest on Sunday afternoon.
In a contest that proved to be even throughout most of the day, Rhodes held a slight 12-11 advantage in shots over Berry while the Vikings had a 6-5 shot on goal lead over the Lynx. Rhodes also led in corner kicks at 6-5.
Berry had a pair of opportunities in the 20th minute as Maldonado saved a shot from Maggie Midkiff and followed it up with another save moments later from Ansley Rushing. Senior

Rachel Giampapa got a look at goal, but saves from Berry's Melissa Sanchez made it a scoreless game at half.

Emma Selner sent a stunner from about 25 yards out with less than five remaining, but a save from Sanchez kept the game scoreless as we reached the end of regulation.
Rhodes got six shots off in the first overtime, coming away with numerous opportunities, but could not find the golden goal. Meanwhile, in the second OT, it was Maldonado that came up big, keeping out three Viking attempts as the game ended with no goals on the day.
Giampapa got five shots off on the afternoon while Selner added two shots on the day. Maldonado finished with six saves on the afternoon as Rhodes moved to 6-2-1 overall and 3-0-1 in SAA play.
Rhodes will return home this upcoming weekend for Family Weekend. They start the two game stretch on Friday at 4 PM as they welcome their rivals, Sewanee, in what will prove to be a huge SAA matchup.
