MEMPHIS - The Rhodes College volleyball team, coming in needing a win over Centre to finish in fourth place in the SAA Standings, rolled the Centre Colonels on Sunday afternoon in three sets to clinch their highest finish since the SAA formed in 2012.
Rhodes now sits at 11-11 overall and 7-7 in the SAA. They will take on Centre, who finished as the fifth seed, at the SAA Championship in Conway in two weeks.
The Lynx were outstanding on Sunday afternoon, finishing with 39 kills to only 11 errors, hitting an impressive .259 in the match. Centre had 30 kills to 26 errors for a .033 hitting percentage. Rhodes owned the Colonels in every major category including aces (6-1), blocks (10-3), assists (35-27), and digs (58-44).

Catherine Grimes and
Alex Overstreet, for their outstanding contributions to the program.
The Lynx came out on fire, earning 17 kills in the first set to only one error for a red hot .552 hitting percentage. The Lyxn ran out to a 10-3 lead and never looked back as junior

Katherine Bolyard led the attack as Rhodes rolled to a 25-15 win in the opening set.
In the second set, Centre looked to respond as they jumped out to a 3-0 led, but the Lynx took over behind two service aces from Williams and scored seven straight points to take ove at 7-3.
The Lynx never looked back from there. Though the hitting percentage cooled off to .100 in the second set, the Lynx defense shut down Centre as they committed 11 errors for a -.019 hitting percentage. Rhodes finished the second set off with a 25-19 win.
In the third set, Rhodes left no doubt in the third set as they jumped out to a 16-8 lead. Rhodes did not let up and it was a picture perfect ending as Grimes set up Overstreet for the final kill to close the match at 25-13.
Bolyard led the attack with 10 kills and a .296 hitting percentage while Platt added seven kills. Williams, sophomore

Lulu Schulz, and freshman
Heather Antrim all had five kills. Sophomore
Hannah McCarty had 17 assists while sophomore
Arati Joshi had 11.
Defensively, Grimes led the way with 16 digs while Schulz led the way in blocks with seven. Bolyard and Perlis each added three as well.
Rhodes completes its conference schedule, but has one more game remaining in the regular season. They will close the regular season at home on Friday as they welcome in LeMoyne-Owen for a 6 PM matchup in Mallory Gym.
