Lynx Fall on the Road to Sewanee Thanks to Second Half Run

SEWANEE, Tenn. - A 12-0 run midway through the second half proved to the difference as the Rhodes College men's basketball team dropped a conference road matchup to the Sewanee Tigers, 69-64, on Sunday afternoon.

Despite the sharp shooting, the Lynx could not slow down a hot shooting Sewanee team who went 50% from the field and 61% from downtown. However, the Tigers struck with a 12-0 run and pushed it out to a 15-2 run for a 53-45 lead.

Rhodes tried to make a run, but Sewanee would eventually push the lead to 10 with a little under five minutes to go. The Lynx cut the deficit to four with over two mintues to go as they looked to make a final push for the win. However, a huge three pointer with under two seconds on the shot clcok put Sewanee back up by seven.

The Lynx could not score agian until six seconds remaining in the game as they eventually fell to the Tigers, 69-64.

Galvin led the way with 16 points in the game while Gee was impressive, going for 14 points, 10 rebounds, and two steals. Darst finished with 10 points while sophomore Keyshawn Butts scored 10 points and added two steals. Sophomore JJ Weir had four assists and two steals.
