MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The No. 14 Rhodes baseball team fell on the road on Tuesday in out of conference play against Huntingdon College, 5-3.
The Lynx fall to 23-9 on the year while the Hawks improve to 18-15 in 2015.
Rhodes got off to a hot start, scoring three runs in the first inning.
David Balaguer doubled down the right field line for the Lynx first two runs.
Andrew Wallis knocked in Balaguer for the early 3-0 lead. That advantage was short lived, as Huntingdon added three runs in the bottom of the same frame to tie the contest.
The Lynx offense couldn't get things going, and after the Hawks tacked on two more runs in the eighth inning, the Lynx fell, 5-3.
Rhodes worked for six hits in the outing, with Balaguer and
Will Gietema each with two hits apiece.
Chip Capper got the start for the Rhodes pitching staff, with four and one-thirds innings pitched and three strikeouts.
Will Vance came in for the final two innings of play, with one strikeout.
Rhodes will be back in action on April 11 when they face off against Birmingham Southern College.
