JACKSON, Tenn. – The No. 18 Rhodes baseball team downed Hendrix College on Friday in the opening round of the Southern Athletic Association Conference tournament.

Head coach Jeff Cleanthes squad went straight to work, adding single runs in the first, second and third innings for the early 3-0 lead. A big five run fourth gave the Lynx an 8-0 edge. Bill Munson got things going with a double to left center, scoring Marcus Moreland who doubled in his at bat to the same spot.

The Rhodes offense continued to produce, as Rhodes added a pair of insurance runs in the fifth and three runs in the sixth frame to extend their lead to 13-0. Bill Munson knocked a triple to right center, scoring two, and worked his way home on a wild pitch. The Warriors spoiled the shut out, adding two runs in the seventh, but the Lynx held on for the 13-2 win.

David Balaguer led the Lynx offense, going 4-for-4 at the plate, including three RBIs.
