MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The No. 9 Rhodes baseball team downed Berry College in the first game of their three-game Southern Athletic Association series on Saturday, 7-0.
The Lynx improve to 21-5 on the year and 8-1 in conference play while the Vikings fall to 14-11-1 and 5-4-1 in league action.

Ryan Olive single to left field send home
Bill Munson to take the one run lead. In the third frame, the Lynx tacked on three more runs to push out to a 4-0 advantage.
The Lynx offense kept things going in the seventh inning when they added three more runs, including a
Will Gietema double to center field that scored Olive and
Justin Genter for the 7-0 lead. The score would stand, as the Lynx took game one against the Vikings, 7-0
The Lynx racked up 13 hits in the contest, with Genter pacing the Lynx, going 3-for-4 at the plate.
Daniel Morris got the start, and the win for the Lynx, as he threw eight complete innings. The junior had five strikeouts in the Lynx fourth shutout of the season.
Colton Mayo came in to relieve, throwing the final inning.
Rhodes will be back in the diamond tomorrow, March 29 in a double header against Berry College.
