ROME, Ga. – The Rhodes softball team fell on the road to Southern Athletic Association foes Berry College on Sunday, 4-1.
The Lynx fall to 1-14-1 on the year and 0-5-1 in league play while the Vikings improved to 12-5 on the year and 5-2 in the SAA.
The Lynx got the scoring started in the fourth inning when a
Christine Hume walk scored
Rachel Pewitt. The Lynx lead was short lived, as Berry added a run in the fourth, two in the fifth and a single run in the sixth inning to take the 4-1 win.
The Lynx tallied three hits on the day, with
Caroline Reilly, Pewitt and
Kirsten Samuels each knocking a hit.
Reilly got the start in the circle for the Lynx, where she threw five complete innings, and struck out two batters in the loss.
Forrest Skelton came in to relieve in the final inning, striking out one batter.
Rhodes second matchup of the day against the Vikings was cancelled due to weather.
The Lynx will be back on the diamond on March 24 when they host Hendrix College in a makeup doubleheader.
