ATLANTA, Ga. – The Rhodes baseball team picked up a win over Saint Joesph's College of Maine on Saturday in the Emory University Tournament, 11-1.
The Lynx improve to 4-1 on the year, while the Monks fall to 0-1 to begin their 2015 campaign.
Adam Putnam went the distance on the hill for the Lynx, throwing a complete seven innings and picking up the win. While on the rubber, he threw six strikeouts and only allowed one run.
The Lynx offense was firing on all accounts, with a host of Lynx notching two hits.
Bill Munson and
Andrew Wallis each had a double in the outing, with
Jackson Lourie bringing in two runners.
Rhodes posted three runs in the second inning, when a Lourie Single brought home
Andrew Wallis, a Munson double to center scored Lourie, and Munson stole third and found his way home on a throwing error.
The Lynx tacked on six more runs in the fourth frame, before adding two runs in the final inning of play.
Rhodes will be back in action on Feb. 15 against host, Emory University.
