SEWANEE, Tenn. - In a game that included a one hour weather delay, the Rhodes College women's soccer team dropped a tough 2-1 decision to the University of the South on Friday evening after a goal in the first overtime gave the Tigers the win over their rivals.
Freshman
Sydnie Schindler got the scoring started in the 17th minute as she put the Lynx on top early on thanks to an assist from sophomore
Emma Selner. Sewanee responded in the 32nd minute with a goal from Erin Gill to tie the match going into the half.
Sewanee would be in control in both halves, outshooting the Lynx, 17-6, including an 11-2 advantage in the second half. They also held a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks. Despite the Tigers threats, Rhodes remained tough on defense, keeping the game tied at one and sending the match into overtime.
In the extra time, Kiley Ezzell of Sewanee would find the back of the net in 95th minute to score the big victory over their rivals.

Sarah Rostamo, and junior
Angie Hurlow all had a shot as well. Senior
Chandler Kuhlman had a great night in goal with six saves on the night.
The Lynx move to 7-4-1 overall and 2-1 in SAA play. Rhodes will return to action on Sunday for a huge road match as they go to Danville, Ky. to take on 17th-ranked Centre College. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. ET.
