Hannah Selner a game winning penalty kick in the first overtime to send the Rhodes College women's soccer team into the Southern Athletic Association Championship semifinals with a 3-2 win over the Hendrix Warriors.
Like their first matchup in Memphis, it was another wild contest between the Lynx and Warriors that had to be decided in overtime. Rhodes was able to outshoot Hendrix, 32-7, including a 20-5 advantage in the first half, but the Warriors were able to stay close with the Lynx throughout the contest.
Hendrix would get on the board first as Samantha Lallas gave them a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute. It looked as though that would be the score going into the break until junior
Sarah Rostamo made a beautiful run towards goal, beating numerous defenders, including excellent goalkeeper Jordan Rausch, to tie the game at one with 19 seconds remaining in the half.
Rhodes would carry that momentum into the second half, moving ahead 2-1 in the 62nd minute as junior
Sarah Wachter got into the scoring column. However, it only took three minutes for the Warriors to respond as Lucy Moore scored on the assist from Lallas to tie the game again.
The Lynx would press for the game winner in regulation, but to no avail as they game would push into overtime.
Only four minutes into overtime, a foul in the box would set up the game winning PK for Selner, who buried it to send the crowd on hand, as well as her team, into jubilation as the Lynx moved on.
Selner led the offensive attack with eight shots in the contest while senior

Addie Fargason, junior
