MEMPHIS - A pair of goals in the second half would push the Rhodes College men's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Berry College in Southern Athletic Association play on Saturday afternoon.
The Lynx move to 6-4-4 overall and 2-1-3 in confernece play with a pivotal matchup with Millsaps on the horizon.
It was an even first half between the Lynx and the Vikings as Berry held a slight 7-5 lead in shots. However, Rhodes clamped down on defense, led from a great effort from senior

Paul Burdette, freshman
George Winfrey, and freshman
Joel Sabio. Despite being outshot, Rhodes was able to earn the advantage in corner kicks at 4-2.
In the second half, it only took 30 seconds for the Lynx to move ahead 1-0 as freshman
Austin Ly found junior
Evan Wladis who put it away in the left corner, his fifth goal of the season, to give the Lynx all the momentum.
The Lynx would take complete control of the match 10 minutes later after freshman
Davis Neitzschman scored his team-leading eighth goal of the year. He would come through on the rebound after an absolute lazer beam of a shot from sophomore
Matt McKeand on a free kick.
Rhodes would completel control the second half, outshooting the Vikings, 10-4, and keeping possession in Berry's territory throughout the second half. The Lynx also held a 2-1 advantage in corners.
McKeand would finish with four shots to lead the offense while senior
Samory Diaby added three. Sophomore
Mark Robinson and junior Conner Tipton also added a pair of shots for the Lynx. On top of the terrific defensive effort, senior
Riley Sheen picked up his third goal of the season, which have all come in conference play, picking up four saves in the contest.
Rhodes concludes the regular season next Saturday as they welcome in Millsaps College at 3 p.m. It will be Homecoming weekend across the campus of Rhodes. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. with the Lynx celebrating Senior Day prior to the contest.
