BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - After falling in a Southern Athletic Association matchup to Birmingham-Southern, 3-0, the Rhodes College volleyball team bounced back to pick up a four set win over Agnes Scott on Saturday afternoon at BSC.
In the first match, the Lynx struggled to slow down the hot hitting Panthers, who only committed eight errors in the entire match to go with 39 kills and a .282 hitting percentage. Meanwhile, Rhodes struggled, finishing with 28 kills and 20 errors for a .066 hitting percentage. BSC would hit .500 in the first set and .296 in the second as they would win in three sets, 25-14, 25-8, 25-22.

August Bishop would finish with nine kills while freshman
Ana McMullen added 22 digs. Defensively, McMullen and senior
Maraia Tremarelli each had 11 digs while freshmen
Caroline Perlis and
Ellen Platt had three blocks.
The Lynx would the first set to the Scotties in their second match, 25-19, hitting only .081 with 10 errors. From there, the Lynx would turn it around, hitting a high percentage in all three sets and finishing with 49 total kills for the win.
In set two, the Lynx finished with 14 kills to only four errors while hitting . 286 for a 25-18 win. They followed that up with 11 kills and forced Agnes Scott into a -.214 hitting percentage for a 25-10 win.
The finished things off with an 11 kills, four error effort for a hitting percentage of .212 to clinch the match in the fourth set with a 25-18 victory.
WIlliams led the way with 11 kills while freshman
Lulu Schulz added 10 kills. Freshman
Camila Zimmerman added nine kills while McMullen was excellent with 40 assists. McMullen, along with Tremarelli and Williams, each added four service aces as well.
Defensively, Tremarelli had 19 digs while Zimmerman was right behind her with 18. Schulz had a career high seven blocks while Platt added three blocks.
Rhodes now sits at 9-12 overall and 2-7 in SAA play. The Lynx will remain on the road, heading to Conway, Ark. on Wednesday for a weekday conference matchup against Hendrix College. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
