ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Rhodes men's soccer team fell on the road to Principia College on Saturday, 3-0.
The Lynx fall to 2-5-1 on the season while the Panthers pick up their first win and more to 1-8.
The Rhodes defense held strong until Kevin Silcox broke through to find the back of the net at the 22 minute mark. The 1-0 score would stand through the half.
The Lynx continued to struggle offensively, when the Panthers added two more goals in the second half. McGuire Semnacher and Laurencce Martins each scored in the 61st and 88th minute respectively. The Lynx couldn't find the back of the net and the 3-0 score stood as final.
Riley Sheen picked up all 90 minutes in goal for the Lynx, where he snagged two saves. Matt Jones was a stifling net minder for the Panthers where he grabbed seven saves in goal.
The battle was a bit closer in the shots category, where Rhodes narrowly missed by a count of 10-8. Rhodes was awarded more corner kick opportunities by a tally of 6-1.
The Lynx will continue their Missouri road trip Sunday, Sept. 28 when they face off against Fontbonne University at 1 p.m.
