BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Rhodes baseball season fell in the Southern Athletic Association Conference Tournament on Tuesday to No. 16 Birmingham-Southern College, 5-0.
The Lynx finish the 2014 season with a record of 32-15 while the Panthers improve to a record of 35-10.
Rhodes struggled from the plate for the second game in a row, tallying four hits, with a hit from
Bill Munson,
Justin Genter,
Strother White and
Walker McWherter.
BSC broke the silence and got on the board in the fifth inning, sending two home to push ahead 2-0. Jacob Mayfield hit a three run homer in the seventh to make the final count 5-0.
Adam Putnam started on the rubber for the Lynx, throwing for six full innings and striking out four.
Max Halasz came in for the final three innings of work.
The No. 26 ranked Lynx will await the release of the NCAA tournament at large selections. The selections are set for May 11 and the release can be found at NCAA.com
