MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Rhodes men's tennis team swept the Centre College Colonels in their home opener and Senior Day this Saturday and claimed an important win in the conference standings as the year-end tournament draws nearer at the end of this month.

Albert Vacheron and Daniel Olivier claimed the first point of the day in doubles for the Lynx with a quick 8-4 victory over Brooks and Richardson.  "When Daniel's serve is cooking like it did today, Albert can really command the net as well as he did," said Coach Ryan Dodd.  Graham Sowden and Greyson Brilliant followed up with a dominant 8-2 win at second doubles, and Eliot Blatt and lone Senior Colin Perry completed the sweep with a competitive match against Rini/Henize on court 1 with a 8-6 victory.

Moving into singles play, the Lynx never looked back from their 3-0 doubles lead.  Rhodes never dropped a set in singles competition and with a 6-3, 6-1 win from Graham Sowden at line five and a decisive 6-4, 6-1 win from Eliot Blatt on court one against a talented Woody Rini from Centre College, the match was clinched.

Rhodes is back in action against defending SAA Conference Champion Sewanee tomorrow, April 6 at 9 a.m. on the Dunavant Tennis Center tennis courts.
